We are looking for 24 Wiener Dogs & 24 Corgis to participate in a special Winter Dog Race during Canterbury Park's Skijoring Event.
If you are interested in having your Dachshund/Corgi participate,
please fill out the registration form:
The completion of this form is to express your interest in participating in Winter Dog Races. Submitting this form DOES NOT guarantee your dog's participation. Chosen participants will be notified by email.
>> One dog per form. You may submit multiple forms for multiple dogs (one submission per dog).
Race Information:
Race Heats: Dogs will be split up into 4 heats (2 heats per break)
Break 1: Weens #1 & Weens #2
Break 2: Corgis #3 & Corgis #4
NOTE: Due to time restrictions, there will be no "Finals"
Vaccinations: Dogs MUST be current on Rabies, Distemper & Bordetella
Breeds: Mixed breeds are welcome, but race participants DO need to visually be identified as either Dachshund or Corgi
**If your dog has long legs, we encourage join us for a non-breed specific event. Please reach out to Long Dog Apparel if you have questions regarding your dog's eligibility.
Social: Dogs must be social (friendly with dogs & humans)
Leash Policy: Dogs must remain on a 4' or 6' leash when not racing (no retractable leashes)
>> There will be an in-door staging area for the dogs & their humans during the event. Please note that dogs ARE NOT allowed on the 2nd or upper floors in the building (this includes the indoor reserved seating areas).
Tickets: Chosen participants will receive 4 general admission tickets

We encourage you to come prepared with winter items for your dog (jacket, boots, etc). Racers will be provided with a racing silk that is to be worn by the dog during the race (returned to coordinator after race).
